Sunny with Gwyn 4-28-04
The days and weeks have been flying by, and it saddens me to look at my website that hasn’t been updated in over a month and a half. Sunny’s banner is still adorned with Easter eggs, and I sit here without having a shower in a couple of days. Gwyn is starting to whine next to me in her swing. But, I am determined to write a new diary entry!

Sunny is a changed pup. I had no idea what to expect with Gwyn and Sunny together and how I would handle it. God never gives us more than we can handle, and I have seen that firsthand in this situation. In the beginning it was rough because Sunny was having to take the back burner and he didn’t understand why I didn’t have every second of the day to cuddle and play with him. Now Sunny is lying at the gate to the bedroom staring at me occasionally as I work and then tucking his head back under like a turkey and going to sleep. Could this possibly even be the same hucklebutting psycho I brought home almost two years ago?

OK I get a little emotional when I think of the lack of attention Sunny has received lately. Oh, how I love him with all my heart! Sunny now sleeps on the couch at night. I never thought he would be a couch tater and now he finally is. He is such a good boy and is not giving me any problems during the day. He has really gotten used to Gwyn being around. He used to always try and jump up and see her and now he just comes up and lightly sniffs her hand as if to say, "Oh, it’s just you again." He doesn’t even try to clobber her anymore. I can’t wait for the day when she looks at him and smiles. Right now whenever he sniffs her, she just makes a putrid face as if to say, "Yuck, what was that?!!"

So, Sunny hasn’t really done anything crazy lately. Oh, he did pee on the couch one night. Yes, I was exhausted in the bed and the hub was holding a colicky Gwyn at 3am. Sunny just pronounced he had enough of all of this screaming baby stuff and stood directly in the middle of the couch and peed all over it. I am not talking a squirt or a dribble, but he turned into a mule and soaked the couch with what had to be about a gallon of pee. (Keep in mind our couch is cream.) Now luckily, we use couch covers anyways since Sunny sleeps on it. I was not very happy about this, and Sunny has since lost some of his couch privileges.

Sunny also ate one of my new socks yesterday. He has never done that before. He never even cared about socks or shoes, but my sock disappeared and Sunny had to be the culprit--since it was there one second and gone the next. It’s amazing how fast a Bully can eat a sock or anything else for that matter. I am not worried about it. He has eaten so many things much larger than that, and they always end up in the backyard in a few days time.

For all of you who are interested in Gwyn: she just turned two months old this last weekend. Life with her has been so exciting so far but very stressful. She is just coming out of her colic episode. Since she was about three weeks old, she developed colic in the evenings and would scream her head off every night from around 4pm-12am. I didn’t think we would make it. It was very upsetting, but now she is pulling out of that. She is turning into a happier baby, and I think we are all happy about that!

Well, Sunny just woke up from his nap and he is barking for me to take him out into the pretty sunshine. Till next time!
