SUNNY IS HOME!

Sunny is home. He is not totally out of the woods, but he is doing better than I would have expected. He was so happy to come home and wagged his tail so much when he came through the front door, and I know that was hard for him because he is in so much pain. His incision is much larger than I expected or had thought it was. It is about a foot long, maybe more. He is all stapled up and in a lot of pain. The vet gave us two different antibiotics and some pain meds for him. He is pooping and peeing good. I never thought I would be so happy to see a poop...so happy I even had to snap a picture of it. When he got home, he went straight to the food bowl. He just wants to eat and eat, but we can only feed him about 2 tablespoons of wet food every six hours. We don’t want to overwork his gut at this point.

He is being such a good boy. Sunny is such a sweetheart. He was so happy just to lie down and be petted. He will be on crate rest mainly for the next couple of weeks till he gets some strength back. We are just supposed to keep him quiet--impossible with a Bully--and keep his incision clean. It looks so good and the vets are amazing and did such a wonderful job with him. He now has the battle scars to prove his is a real Bull Terrier. I am just so thrilled to have him home. I don’t know what I would of done if we had of lost him.

So far we have raised about $250.00 via PayPal and have started to even get donations by mail. I cannot believe how totally supportive the Bull Terrier community has been. You guys are truly angels. Please keep the donations coming. We have along way to go yet but I cannot thank you enough for donating. Sunny is so truly love and this will never be forgotten. He is snuggled in his crate right now with his favorite blankey and is snoring very loudly as I write this. I am hoping it will be a painfree night for him and he can finally get some much-needed rest. I will have help taking care of him the rest of the week, and I will give him a million hugs to make up for all of the cyberhugs he has received via Internet. Thanks again and I will update tomorrow.

If you want to see some pictures of Sunny since his surgery, I've put them here. (Warning: Some pictures are very graphic.)

Love,
Lisa and Sunny "Zipper" Buns

Sunny is recovering like most Bullies do....slow. He is taking in every bit of empathy he can muster up to get! We are going to see him 2-3 times a day. But Sunny will not look at us...he wags his tail and looks right past us at the front door. He wants to go home. The only thing really holding him back right now is that he hasn’t made a poopy. Once he does that he should get the go ahead to come home. That’s if the vets will let him go. Everyone at the vet is totally in love with him. They said he has not given them a single ounce of trouble. He listens to them and does everything they ask. They said the only time he makes any noise at all is when it's time for his pain meds and then he will let them a little moan, so they know he wants them. He has his cute little IV in his arm and he has not messed with it all. I think he knows it’s helping him get better. He has a huge incision from the top of his weiner to the bottom and its all stabled up. We brought his rug/bed/lamby thing to the hospital and he was very excited when he smelled that and even more excited to have it in his crate to lie on. All he had in there was a towel and he is a rather posh Bully and likes his comfort. But so far so good. We have one more day till he is out of danger and I will post more later.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR DONATIONS!!!!!!

We have about $100.00 right now and for people that don’t know us so well that is way more than expected but keep them coming!!
